PS3 Firmware 2.70 announced

April 2, 2009 by Trey

The Playstation blog was just updated announcing that firmware version 2.70 will be released “soon”.  (Er, Greg tels me its out now.) The firmware boasts such innovative features as text chat with up to 15 of your friends. The ability to sort your friends list in many different ways, and the ever so impressive backing up video feeds!

Honestly Sony, I love the PS3 for its ability to have non-proprietary peripherals, the PSN store, how well it works hand in hand with my PSP, but text chat? Lets pull something out of this century, instead of rehashing the 90’s IRC phase all over again.

Returning to Zork… Again…

April 1, 2009 by Trey

Some of you long term PC gamers may remember a little game by the name of Zork. For those of you who don’t, Zork was text based game where you played the part of an adventurer out to get treasure. It was a pretty simple premise, but for some reason addictively fun.

Today a new chapter has begun in the Zork series: Legends of Zork. From what I understand its a text-based MMO with its roots set firmly in Zork. A fellow poster over on forumopolis.com was heavily involved in the art direction and has been talking up the game for the past few months. I’ll be jumping in this shortly to give it a spin, won’t you come join me?

It’s episode 6 and I am back! Greg and I discuss a little about World of Warcraft again. We also open up the beginning session to what we’ve read & watched as well as played. This brings in a little discussion about Twilight, Angel, Buffy, Stargate SG-1, Castle, plus a slew of other TV shows we’ve been watching. We wrap up the podcast with a talk about  the new technology OnLive. Enjoy!
