Needs More Burton

Just got back from seeing Coraline, and it was a disappointment. The movie just felt…empty. I mean, it *looked* great, but the story was cookie-cutter and the movie just seemed to go on way too long. And this may be the first time I’ve ever said this, but…I think it would have been better as a musical.
I think the bottom-line is, any movie that’s supposed to be Burton-esque, but doesn’t actually involve Tim Burton, just doesn’t work.
